GS Biomats Returns to Renewable Materials Conference for Third Consecutive Year

    For the third year in a row, GS Biomats took part in the Renewable Materials Conference in Cologne, one of the industry's premier gatherings for sustainable materials.     Since its debut, GS Biomats has appeared at the Renewable Materials Conference for three consecutive years.     From lab to Commercialization


    Using our proprietary continuous-process technology, GS Biomats has overcome long-standing production bottlenecks in furan-based manufacturing and achieved continuous, stable production of FDCA (2,5-furandicarboxylic acid). Today, the purity of FDCA products can be stably maintained at over 99.99%, with constant improvements in color, purity, and stability. Cumulative global supply has surpassed 200 tons, making it a key raw material driving the performance release of downstream materials like PEF.

    The Wide-Ranging Applications of PEF


    With PEF's high-performance and renewable properties, it is suitable for a wide range of applications — from packaging to fibers and beyond. With GS Biomats; large-scale, reliable supply, we are enabling more brands to adopt PEF at commercial scale and bring higher-performance, more sustainable products to market.


    Packaging field


    Following the development of high-barrier packaging, GS Biomats further developed high-transparency packaging solutions, enabling PEF to showcase unique advantages in high-value applications like cosmetics and daily chemicals. These characteristics, including renewability, recyclability, and high transparency, not only facilitate material upgrades but also offer end brands solutions that combine performance and green attributes.

    Fiber and textile industry


    PEF fibers and aramid flame-retardant fibers are gradually expanding from separate applications to blended solutions, bringing more intuitive performance improvements and process compatibility. They are becoming an important part of the next generation of functional fibers.
