Performance:Where Natural Power Meets Fiber Applications

FURIX™ derives its name from the combination of “Furan” and “Matrix.” It represents a high-performance, highly customizable, optimizable, and scalable matrix of furan-based bio-materials. Its core strength lies in its powerful and versatile intrinsic properties.

The newly released PEF fiber application perfectly exemplifies the “natural power” inherent in furan-based materials.

Powerful Without Additives: Thanks to the unique oxygen-containing structure of the furan ring, FURIX™ PEF fibers deliver a full range of high-performance properties inherently — without any chemical additives. These include 7A-grade natural antibacterial and anti-mite functions, excellent moisture absorption and quick-drying, wrinkle resistance and shape retention, UV protection, a natural cooling sensation, and superior anti-pilling performance.

    Stability in Multiple Scenarios:

FURIX™ PEF fibers have achieved industrial-scale production in staple fiber, wool top, and filament forms. They blend seamlessly with cotton, wool, Tencel, and other natural or synthetic fibers, while meeting application standards. The fibers can also be customized for high elasticity, quick-drying, or antibacterial properties according to customer needs, demonstrating excellent versatility and market adaptability.

Synergy:Harnessing the Collaborative Strength of Industry Partners

The rapid rise of new materials depends on deep collaboration across the industrial chain. At the launch event, GS Biomats signed strategic cooperation agreements with five leading industry players.

In the filament sector, GS Biomats established strategic partnerships with Jasmine, Jingdu Textile, and Xiaoran Group. Notably, Xiaoran Technology announced plans to invest in a 5,000-ton PEF polymerization and spinning production line, aiming to become a leading player in the bio-based fiber market while jointly developing high-value, differentiated applications.

    Wool and Short Fiber Field:

GS Biomats has signed strategic cooperation agreements with Boheng and Danmao. To date, the three parties have completed multiple rounds of validation, fully demonstrating the advantages of PEF fibers in fine wool spinning and staple fiber applications. A range of standard and customized specifications have already been launched, offering the textile industry low-carbon, high-performance alternatives.

These series of signings cover the entire value chain — from bio-based monomers to polyester chips, and from differentiated filaments to modified staple fibers. The collaboration also extends to branded applications in high-end fine wool fabrics and knitted materials. This marks the initial formation of a complete innovation ecosystem for PEF fibers, spanning upstream and downstream partners from R&D through to end-use applications, and lays a solid foundation for its large-scale commercialization.

    Roundtable:Echoes from the Industry Frontline

During the roundtable discussion, GS Biomats President Dr. Zhang Yu, together with five industry guests, explored the market potential of FURIX™ in depth.

Japan Jasmine Textile Engineer · Hironaga Kan

Japan, a key trendsetter in the global fiber market, is seeing rising demand for high-performance bio-based polymers. We are highly optimistic about the future of FURIX™ PEF fibers and will actively drive their large-scale adoption worldwide.

    微信图片_2026-03-20_173425_205.jpg

Danmao Textile Chairman · Xu Dao

PEF fiber has a structure very close to polyester, making it an ideal petroleum-based alternative. Real-world tests show that PEF-wool blends offer a noticeably more premium hand feel. As a new material, we need to communicate its benefits in a way that consumers can easily understand, experience, and love.

Jingdu Textile Chairman · Peng Hongwei

Low-carbon sustainability is an irreversible trend. We are actively working to overcome the technical challenges in weaving and dyeing processes. We look forward to stronger collaboration across the entire industry chain to accelerate R&D efforts and drive the rapid adoption of this green material in end-consumer markets.

    微信图片_2026-03-20_173437_101.jpg

Xiaoran Technology General Manager · Tao Ran

As a company specializing in differentiated filaments, we are highly confident in the future of FDCA as a cost-effective alternative to PTA. We strongly believe in FURIX™’s underlying innovation capabilities and plan to support the advancement of the bio-based fiber industry through substantial investments in production capacity.

GS Biomats President · Dr. John Zhang

Currently, PEF fibers are strategically positioned in the mid-to-high-end differentiated market, with a strong focus on wool spinning, premium business wear, and moisture-wicking quick-dry sportswear. We have already partnered with several well-known domestic and international apparel brands to accelerate the development and launch of ready-to-wear garments. The industry must continue to deepen upstream and downstream collaboration — from fiber development and fabric processing to final product creation — to drive the successful commercialization of PEF fibers.

Vision Beyond Fibers, Unlocking Infinite Possibilities

This launch marks not only a milestone, but also a new beginning for FURIX™ as a high-performance polymer brand.

Fiber applications are just the first step. GS Biomats’ first production facility in Lishui, Zhejiang, already delivers at the scale of hundreds of tons, while a new facility in Taixing, Jiangsu, with an annual capacity of tens of thousands of tons, is set to come online soon. Looking ahead, FURIX™ will continue to expand its expertise in bio-based furan materials, bringing the power of nature into a wider range of applications, including packaging and engineering materials. Together with global partners, we aim to usher in a new era of sustainable advanced materials.
