Recently, the first Asia-Pacific Bio Innovations Conference (Bio Innovations APAC) organized by World Bio Markets, was held in Singapore.
As a key platform for advancing bio-manufacturing innovations from concept to commercial reality, the conference brought together global industry experts and supply chain pioneers. GS Biomats was invited to participate and delivered a presentation sharing the latest technological advancements and industry insights on furan-based bio-materials.

In the presentation, GS Biomats highlighted that the industry logic for bio-based materials is undergoing a profound shift: sustainability has become the fundamental baseline, while superior performance is the key to achieving large-scale commercial adoption.
The company believes that the "green premium" of bio-based materials should be built upon high performance, multifunctionality, recyclability, and renewability.

Currently, GS Biomats is deeply focused on the R&D and industrialization of furan-based bio-materials, validating their performance advantages across multiple sectors:
Packaging Field
Leveraging its inherent advantages — including high barrier properties, high transparency, ease of processing, and recyclability — furan-based materials are delivering environmentally friendly, practical, and high-efficiency solutions that are transforming the packaging industry.

Fiber Field
Without chemical additives, furan bio-based fibers naturally deliver 7A-grade antibacterial and anti-mite properties, along with excellent moisture absorption and quick-drying performance, as well as a natural cooling sensation. They also demonstrate outstanding compatibility for blending with other fibers.

3D Printing
Furan-based bio-polymers offer excellent mechanical properties and superior molding characteristics, effectively addressing the limitations of traditional 3D printing materials in heat resistance and weatherability.

During the conference, we observed a strong clustering effect emerging in the Asia-Pacific bio-based economy. The conference gathered together leading international players as well as numerous domestic companies and supply chain partners who actively participated.
This indicates a positive momentum of innovation and collaboration across the industry, playing a vital role in turning bio-manufacturing innovations into viable commercial realities.

GS Biomats will remain committed to its rigorous and pragmatic approach to technology. The company will continue to focus on the core R&D of furan-based bio-materials and the optimization of mass production processes, while maintaining close collaboration with upstream and downstream partners. Together, we aim to drive the large-scale development of the bio-economy in the Asia-Pacific region and transform innovative new materials into viable industrial solutions.
